The Missionary Diocese of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Categorically Rejects President Donald Trump’s Assertion that Kim Jong Un Loves His People

Fact: The North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and his regime has persecuted, oppressed, tortured and killed many Christians
.
Christians in North Korea face rape, torture, enslavement, and being killed for their faith, a damning new report from Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW) has warned. “Religious beliefs are seen as a threat to the loyalty demanded by the Supreme Leader, so anyone holding these beliefs is severely persecuted,” the report says. “Christians suffer significantly because of the anti-revolutionary and imperialist labels attached to them by the country’s leadership.” Believers are forced to practice their faith in secret, and if caught, get sent to North Korea’s notorious hard labor camps. One escapee told CSW that while he was detained, he met a prisoner who was sent to the camp simply because he had spent a month in China studying the Bible. “A policy of guilt by association applies, meaning that the relatives of Christians are also detained regardless of whether they share the Christian belief,” the report says. Fact: President Donald Trump in an interview with conservative news outlet Voice of America that “Really, [Kim Jong Un has] got a great personality. He’s a funny guy, he’s very smart, he’s a great negotiator. He loves his people, not that I’m surprised by that, but he loves his people.”

Fact: Jesus Christ expressed His love for humanity by feeding the poor, healing the sick and uplifting those who suffered and were oppressed. Furthermore, Jesus Christ died on the cross because He loves us, His people.

Therefore, I Bishop Abad A. Perez, alongside the clergy and people in the Missionary Diocese of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, categorically reject President Donald Trump’s assertion that the evil North Korean leader Kim Jong Un loves his people. Additionally, we point out that Kim Jong Un is an enemy of Christianity, and therefore an enemy of Christ Jesus our Lord.

For that reason, we demand that president Donald Trump retract his false and sinful assertion that an enemy of Christ is capable of loving the people of Christ. If president Donald Trump continues to stand by his assertion that an evil man and his regime love their people, and that they love Christians by torturing and killing them, we then declare president Donald Trump to be a liar and an enemy of all Christians around the world.

We call upon all true believers to join forces together and speak up for our persecuted brothers and sisters in North Korea, and to speak out against the oppression and torturing of any people in the world, by demanding that president Donald Trump retract his false assertion that the North Korean leader loves his people.
